OVERVIEW
The Nortel ERS 4550T provides the high-performance, convergence-ready, secure and resilient Ethernet connectivity required by today’s application and competition driven enterprise networks.
The ERS 4550T delivers 48 10/100 plus two combo 10/100/1000 or SFP ports enabling customers to deploy a high density Fast Ethernet switching solution with either fiber or copper based gigabit ports serving as either uplinks or for server connectivity.
KEY FEATURES:
Ability to mix and match with other ERS 4500s in the same stack for resilience and scalability
Feature-rich solution with functionality enabling by Secure Always On access to mission critical applications
High performance switch architecture and stacking performance delivering 320Gbps
High-density 10/100 ports for edge connectivity
Two combo 10/100/1000/SFP uplinks ports per switch for high speed gigabit or low speed connections such as 100FX
FEATURES & BENEFITS
Deploying either Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet or a mixture of both is made simple through the ERS 4500’s ability to integrate both Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet products in a single stack allowing customers to migrate their desktops to Gigabit while maintaining the same features and simplified manageability from an ERS 4500 stack.
The need to maintain an “Secure Always On Network" is delivered through support of fail-safe stacking and advanced resiliency technology. The ERS 4500 products provide both the scalability and resilience by enabling customers to add switches or replace switches in a stack while maintaining stack integrity even in the unlikely event of switch or cable failure occurs.
Advances security capabilities enable the ERS4500 switches to provide multi-layered network defence. Security applications such as DHCPsnooping, ARP Inspection and BPDU filtering enable the switches to protect the network against malicious network attacks. Advanced security capabilities enable end user device health assessment, quarantine and remediation through the use of Nortel Secure Network Access.
