I’m sure this reference is going to date me, but as I typed that title I couldn’t help but picture Steve Martin in the movie The Jerk jumping up and down yelling “The new phone book’s here! The new phone book’s here! ”

At first blush, hunt groups may sound about as exciting as phone books, but like Steve Martin’s character I’m very excited PureCloud has released this feature. It is one of those tried and true features that most businesses have found useful for small groups of users that need to answer a particular type of call but are not really a contact center. Until recently, PureCloud customers were forced to use more expensive ACD licenses to mimic hunt group functionality. Not only was that a bitter pill to swallow, it could also be a show stopper for smaller businesses.

The “hunt group” feature in PureCloud is accomplished by adding a phone number to a Purecloud Group and then configuring who it will ring and in what pattern (broadcast, sequential, or rotary). You can even configure a back-up target if no one answers and a group voicemail if desired.

Here’s a link to the Resource Center on configuring phone number for groups:

I hope this was helpful. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
